One of our projects in the Algarve, took us to the coastal beauty of Lagos, where our UK-based client envisioned a space inspired by the timeless elegance of the French Riviera and the iconic film La Piscine. Tasked with creating a luxurious, laid-back retreat that captured the spirit of Côte d’Azur living, we built upon the client’s existing pieces to design a cohesive, Riviera-inspired sanctuary.
Creating a French Riviera Retreat
Living Room: The design centered around the client’s existing blue sofa, which brought in the rich, calming hues reminiscent of the Mediterranean.

To complement this central piece, we added vintage Slim Aarons posters that evoke the glamour of 1960s Riviera life, grounding the space with visual depth and a nod to La Piscine’s luxurious ambiance. A golden mushroom lamp added a subtle yet sophisticated touch, warming the room and highlighting the sofa’s cool tones with an elegant contrast.

Primary Bedroom: Inspired by the nautical charm of the French Riviera, we selected boat-themed artwork and leather-strap lamps that echo the region’s iconic sailing culture. These elements created a serene, sophisticated space, evoking a feeling of coastal elegance and enhancing the room’s connection to the Riviera’s boating heritage.

First Guest Room: In this room, the existing yellow bed set the tone. We amplified its vibrancy by adding a playful BALLY poster of a carefree girl, embodying the French Riviera’s relaxed, chic spirit. This pop of color and personality created a lively, inviting atmosphere—perfect for a stylish guest space.

Second Guest Room: Drawing on classic Riviera patterns, we incorporated blue-and-white striped cushions to bring a fresh, coastal vibe. To complement the stripes, we added stunning white marble lamps with gold accents, blending modern sophistication with coastal charm. This refined combination elevated the room, capturing the essence of Riviera luxury.

The French Riviera lifestyle celebrates the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces.
